Render Farm for Teams: How Drop & Render Handles Multi-Artist Studios

09. April, 2026 · Posts

Running a studio is different from running a freelance pipeline. Multiple artists, shared deadlines, one budget. This article explains how Drop & Render is built for exactly that: how credits are shared across a team, how admins track usage per artist, how onboarding works, and how shared storage keeps your assets available to everyone. If you run a studio and want to understand how team rendering actually works in practice, this is for you.

How can you share credits on a render farm across multiple artists?

Most render farms are built around individual accounts. That means separate credit balances, separate invoices, and no shared visibility across your team.

Drop & Render works differently. Every team account runs on a shared credit pool. All your artists draw from the same balance. There is one payment profile and one invoice at the end of the month.

Credits are topped up once by the admin, and the whole team can render immediately. No separate top-ups per artist. No credits stranded in accounts when someone leaves. Your render budget belongs to the studio.

How do you manage a whole team's rendering from one dashboard?

When you log in as an admin, you see the full picture: every artist, every job, every credit drawn. The dashboard breaks this down per team member, so you always know who submitted what, how long it took, and what it cost.

Admins see:

  • Per-member job history, render times, and spending
  • Studio-wide credit balance and top-up history
  • Full access to team settings and billing

Members see:

  • Their own renders and spending
  • Shared asset storage
  • Their own account settings

Members have what they need to do their job. Admins have what they need to run the studio. Individual artists cannot see each other's job history or spending, which matters when you have contractors on the account.

Can multiple artists submit jobs to a render farm at the same time?

Yes, and this is how it should work. Drop & Render runs jobs concurrently by default. Multiple artists can submit simultaneously, jobs do not queue behind each other, and each artist monitors their own renders in real time. The compute scales to the load. Your team does not have to coordinate who submits when.

How does billing and access work for a studio team?

Billing is consolidated by default. All render spend flows through one credit pool, one invoice, one payment profile. There is no per-seat licensing. Adding artists to your team does not change your rate. Every member pays the same standard render rates as a solo account.

Access is role-based. The admin controls billing, invites, and team settings. Members manage their own account and renders. When someone leaves the studio, you remove their access from the admin panel in one click. Their access is gone; your credits stay in the pool.

Can you share scene files and assets across your whole team on a render farm?

Yes. Every Drop & Render team account includes 5 TB of shared cloud storage. Files uploaded by any team member are available to everyone on the team.

Assets stay active for 7 days. If the file is accessed or used again within that window, the 7-day period resets. This keeps your working library available throughout a production without manual re-uploads.

In practice: base textures, HDRIs, character rigs, and environment files live in the shared storage. Anyone on the team can use them without re-uploading.

How quickly can you onboard a full team to a render farm?

Drop & Render uses an invite-link system. Here is how it works:

  1. Admin creates an invite link from the team dashboard
  2. Link is shared with the team via Slack, email, or wherever you communicate
  3. Each artist creates their own account using the link
  4. They are automatically added to the studio team

Each artist owns their own credentials. The admin does not manage passwords. For contractors joining for a single project, the process is the same. Remove their access when the project ends.

Setup guide: from signup to a full team rendering in under 15 minutes

Step 1 (2 min) Create your studio account at dropandrender.com. This becomes your admin account.

Step 2 (2 min) In the admin dashboard, set your studio name, add billing details, and confirm your invoice destination.

Step 3 (1 min) Top up the shared credit pool. This single balance covers the whole team.

Step 4 (1 min) Generate your invite link from the team panel.

Step 5 (1 min) Share the link with your team. Each artist signs up independently and is added automatically.

Step 6 (5 min) Upload shared assets to the team storage. From this point every member has access.

Step 7 Render. All jobs are visible in your admin dashboard, all drawing from the same pool, all on one invoice.

Frequently asked questions

Can we have multiple admins? Yes, as many as you like. You can set this up directly in your team settings.

Is there a minimum team size? No. When you create an account, you already have a team with one user: the administrator account. From there you can add as many members as you like.

What happens to our credits if a team member leaves? Credits live in the studio pool, not in individual accounts. Removing a member does not affect the balance.

Can contractors use the team account temporarily? Yes. Send them the invite link, add them to the team, and remove their access when the project ends.

What software is supported? The team system works with Cinema 4D, Houdini, and Blender.

Is shared storage included or extra? 5 TB of shared cloud storage is included with every team account.

How does billing work? One shared credit pool, one payment profile, one invoice. Your accounts department receives a single document covering all team render activity.

Can I see what each artist spent last month? Yes. The admin dashboard shows spending, render times, and job history per team member.

What if we need more than 5 TB of storage? Contact support to discuss storage options for larger pipelines.
